installed avg free edition 8,keeps coming up error,when running automatic updates,have to install manually. can you help..
if i were you i'd uninstall then reinstall avg that should clear any glitch you have -----> :)
Installing manually is not the answer.
Uninstall the program and then re-install it, there's something wrong with your installation.
Make sure that you do not have any other anti-virus, anti-spyware or firewalls running aupdate avg free editiont the time of installation.
Also make sure that you are getting the file from the proper location. When you search for AVG the first entry that comes up is not the proper location, it's supposed to be coming from the Grisoft website. When you download it from an un-original source, you run the risk of it including content that it should not, including spyware and viruses.

Uninstall the old one, remove alupdate avg free editionl its files and folders, remove the old download, re-start your system and then reinstall the new one.
You should also get this, it's totally free too, and the combo of AVG 8 and Windows Defender will protect your system completely:
